He’s an advocate for inclusive design and has worked with clients ranging from entertainment to insurance and everything in between.
Recently, he’s been working with the Department for Work and Pensions to improve the way government health services are designed, so they’re accessible to some of the most vulnerable members of society.
With more than 15 years of experience at the sharp end, he’s seen a full range of working practices and environments. Phil’s a firm believer that we can only truly go about creating inclusive services if we incorporate diverse voices into the design process itself.
Workshop Title: Inclusive collaboration: How understanding neurodiversity in your team can help create better experiences
Workshop Outline: The best services are designed by diverse teams. Neurodiversity is a way of describing a group of thinking styles and cognitive processing such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette’s syndrome. Essentially, being neurodiverse means having a brain that’s wired differently.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about some of the workplace challenges that come with neurodiversity by hearing from the community at Infinity Works. We’ll look at topics such as inclusive communication, avoiding unnecessary anxiety, and raising awareness.
Together, we’ll explore practical ways we can consider and include those who think differently to improve the way our teams work.
