Presenter Profile: Ankita works in the intersection of design, engineering and business to create experiences that bring value to people around the world while simultaneously being viable for the business. She leads platform design for a smart home ecosystem, where, with her team, she solves complex problems across digital and physical touch-points using data and human-centred design principles as their guide.

Ankita is an advocate for tech being an enabler for individuals with cognitive disabilities based on her own personal experience. She is driven by the dream of creating a more inclusive society.
 

Presentation Title: ‘Inclusive design and technology as an enabler’ 

Outline: In her talk she will share with you some very personal stories about someone who faces cognitive challenges every day – her wonderful brother, an artist with Down Syndrome and his experiences with technology. 

Technology is an enabler, but what can it enable? Working on smart homes for over two years, Ankita will also share how her team has been bringing inclusive thinking into our design and development process and its evolution over time. She hopes to leave people with the feeling that there is immense power in sharing personal stories and she hopes that we hear more of them.
